We’re thrilled to unveil Gravity’s Litepaper – a detailed look into the core technologies driving Gravity and how we’ve built a blockchain designed to power the next frontier of web3. With Gravity, we’re redefining the decentralized ecosystem, mapping the blueprint of an interconnected ecosystem where applications can thrive without the performance or scalability constraints of traditional blockchains.
Developed by Galxe, Gravity is the foundational breakthrough Layer 1 blockchain delivering unmatched performance, security, and interoperability for real-world adoption. We’re referring to 1 gigagas per second throughput, sub-second finality, restaking-powered PoS security, EVM compatibility, and pipelined architecture. Simply put, it’s very fast and very secure, with a very seamless experience.
We’re about to transform web3, and you’re invited on this journey. Explore the full technical breakdown of Gravity in our Litepaper here.
What is Gravity?
Gravity is a high-performance EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain, built to support real-world adoption and an omnichain future. By uniting unparalleled scalability with true decentralization, instant finality with bulletproof security, and seamless interoperability with sustainable economics, Gravity directly addresses the performance demands of modern decentralized ecosystems.
For developers, Gravity enables the creation of scalable, omnichain applications. For users, it means ultra-fast, reliable transactions with near-instant confirmations, combining the ease of web2 with the power of web3.
Let’s break down the core components of Gravity.
Solving Performance Bottlenecks: With a throughput of 1 gigagas per second, Gravity can effortlessly manage complex, resource-heavy applications without slowing down. This scalability ensures the network adapts to growing demand, supporting new and evolving use cases while maintaining speed and capacity.
Uninterrupted User Experience: Sub-second finality delivers near-instantaneous transaction speeds, matching the performance of centralized systems while providing the added security and benefits of decentralization. This addresses the critical need for fast, seamless transactions that keep users engaged.
Reliability Through Enhanced Security: Gravity leverages restaking protocols like EigenLayer and Babylon to deliver enterprise-grade security while maintaining scalability. This architecture ensures the network stays resilient against threats, providing the stability necessary for long-term adoption and making it a trusted foundation for decentralized applications.
Gravity Roadmap
Since the launch of Gravity Alpha Mainnet in August 2024, the network has processed over 275M transactions, with a daily average of 2.6M. Additionally, more than 30M G has been transacted on gas fees, showcasing the growing volume and efficiency of the network as it scales to meet increasing demand.
Here’s what’s coming up on our roadmap: First, we’ll launch Devnet Phase 1 to test real-time performance, followed by the Longevity Testnet to ensure long-term stability before moving to the mainnet. In the final stage, we’ll transition from Gravity Alpha Mainnet to the fully operational Gravity Mainnet, laying the groundwork for the next wave of mass adoption of decentralized technologies through high performance.
Build on Gravity
We’re excited to invite you to join us on this journey. From developers seeking powerful yet familiar tools to users demanding fast and reliable applications, and enterprises needing scalable and secure solutions, Gravity acts as the driving force propelling web3 into its next evolution.
With that, we’re gearing up to introduce a suite of powerful tools designed to redefine blockchain development and interoperability:
Gravity Chain: A high-performance, EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain built for the future of omnichain interoperability and mass adoption.
Gravity SDK: The first open-source SDK designed specifically for building high-performance blockchains with a pipelined architecture.
Gravity Reth: A Block Stream Reactor EVM Execution Layer, designed as the first open-source EVM execution layer optimized for a pipelined consensus engine, offering enhanced scalability and performance.
Grevm (Gravity EVM): A parallel EVM runtime designed to optimize smart contract execution, delivering faster transaction processing and enhanced efficiency for decentralized applications.
Gravity Intent Protocol: A next-gen protocol that breaks down cross-chain barriers, effortlessly linking blockchains and unlocking a world of new opportunities for decentralized ecosystems.
In the coming weeks, we will release more in-depth content around each of these technological innovations. We're just getting started, and trust us, you won't want to blink. Stay tuned to our official channels because things are about to get real exciting!
